Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Series Sets New European Preorder Record

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Series Sets New European Preorder Record

Samsung’s new Galaxy Z supersized phones saw a bigger demand than any of the previous Galaxy Z series in Europe during pre-sales. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8 together posted an impressive figure over Samsung’s previous Galaxy Z preorder record in Europe, up more than 17%.

A Stronger Showing than Last Year

Within the first 11 days of the launch on July 22, the demand for the new Galaxy Z series was more than 20% higher than for the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 during the same period in 2025.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra in particular have a big role to play here: combined new pre-orders for the two devices jumped 70% on the previous Galaxy Z Fold generation.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Drives the Demand

All in all, the Galaxy Z Fold8 has made up almost 40% of all pre-orders in Europe for Galaxy Z family of smartphones. High demand for such a model indicates that people are ready to pay more for bigger screens in their book-like foldable phones. Bigger Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 seems to be currently the favorite foldable smartphone because of the larger screen size and its immersive effect when viewing videos, playing games, editing documents, etc. The new design of the Galaxy Z Fold8 definitely appeals to its target market. Samsung has not specified the pre-order split by countries, memory capacity, color, or customer demographics.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 Is Also a Hit

Also, the Galaxy Z Flip8 series seems to be popular: this year's version of the phone performed better than last year's and better than the Galaxy Z Fold8. The demand for the compact clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip8 suggests that the appeal of a small-form-factor foldable phone that is easier to carry around but offers a bigger screen when opened is still very strong among consumers.

Pricing and Other Details

Samsung’s reported Galaxy Z prices in Europe start at €1,299 for the Galaxy Z Flip8 and €1,999 for the Galaxy Z Fold8, but they may vary by region and storage capacity as well as local VAT and other discounts.

Samsung allowed pre-orders through August 6, 2026, and officially launched the Galaxy Z series on August 7. Samsung also offered some attractive Galaxy Z trade-in discounts and other promotions in certain European markets, which may have driven some of the demand from existing Galaxy Z owners looking to upgrade to the latest models.

Importance of It

Thanks to the preorder numbers, Samsung can make a successful launch and compete well in the foldable niche where other brands have also achieved significant success. The Korean tech giant needs to put much effort to stay ahead of competitors in terms of the development of the foldable smartphone niche, taking into account such factors as the strong brand image of the company and the presence at retailers, apps and Google Android ecosystem. The key task for Samsung is to continue delivering enough units as well as handle high prices and explain the benefits of the Galaxy Z8 compared to earlier models.

What Should You Do Now

Are you thinking about purchasing the new flagship? Then remember that the cost of the device, its capacity and your phone trade-in value in your country will be more important than anything else.
